Azienda Agricola Mircio cultivates high-quality barley on its own land located in the province of Siena, in the municipalities of Asciano and Monteroni d’Arbia. Barley and other cereals are grown in hilly areas, about 300 meters above sea level, which generally prevents the development of fungal diseases; it is therefore healthier and practically free of mycotoxins. In its land, as a good agricultural practice, the cultivation of cereals takes place with the annual rotation of different varieties and alternating crops that improve and enrich the soil. The varieties of barley grown are chosen from those that are best suited for processing into Fior d’Orzo barley coffee.
